The ingredients needed to cook Tomato chutney:

  1. Provide 4 of medium tomatoes.
  2. Use 1/4 cup of jaggery.
  3. Use 1 tsp of oil.
  4. Take 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
  5. Get Pinch of asafoetida.
  6. You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  7. You need 1/2 tsp of coriander powder.
  8. Take 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  9. Prepare 1/4 tsp of salt.

Steps to make Tomato chutney:

  1. Chop the tomatoes and jaggery and keep aside..
  2. Heat oil in a wok and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds..
  3. After the seeds crackle,add asafoetida and tomatoes..
  4. Add salt and saute for 1-2 mins then cover and cook on low flame..
  5. After the tomatoes turn little soft in 3-4 mins,add coriander powder,red chilli powder and jaggery and mix well..
  6. Saute till jaggery melts and then add coriander leaves..
  7. Serve with your favorite paranthas..
