The ingredients needed to make Banana bread:

  1. Provide 1/2 cup of vegetable oil + 3 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
  2. Use 2 cups of Sugar.
  3. Use 1 teaspoon of Vanilla.
  4. Provide 4 of Eggs, at room temperature.
  5. You need 4 of Overripe Bananas (the skin should be bruised and blackened).
  6. Take 3/4 cup of Buttermilk, at room temperature.
  7. Get 2 1/2 cups of Flour.
  8. Provide 1/2 tablespoon of Baking Powder.
  9. Provide 1/2 tablespoon of Baking Soda.
  10. Get 1 teaspoon of Salt.

Steps to make Banana bread:

  1. Apply cake release on 2 baking pans/ 3 loaf tins. Preheat your oven to 160 degrees C.
  2. Sift all your dry ingredients and set them aside.
  3. Mash the bananas in a desperate bowl and add the butter milk and mix..
  4. In a seperate bowl whisk together the sugar vegetable oil, vanilla and eggs till they are light and fluffy.
  5. Add 1/3 of the flour(dry ingredients) in the egg mixture and mix.
  6. Add 1/2 of the buttermilk-banana mixture and mix.
  7. Add another 1/3 of the flour and mix.
  8. Add the remaining 1/2 of the buttermilk- banana mixture and mix again.
  9. Add the last 1/3 of the flour and mix.
  10. Pour the batter into the baking tin(s).
  11. Sprinkle with some nuts and raisins and bake for 30- 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
